As you'll know by now, the Porsche 911 GT3 doesn't play the numbers game. It's ridiculous but true that the 4.0-litre's 510hp isn't much to brag about these days. There are faster supercars if you want to win a game of Top Trumps or a drag race - but, of course, that's missing the point. The GT3 is built to go racing and, as a result, that gives the road cars a level of credibility that many rivals don't live up to.
What the GT3 is not, is discreet. A road car with a huge swan-neck rear wing isn't for everyone, which is where this second-generation GT3 with Touring Package comes in. All the character and crescendo of the regular, winged GT3, but with a less shouty look. Losing the rear wing means the downforce drops from 80kg at 124mph to just 15kg, but who cares - that's no great loss on the road.
