Tyler Adams commended for his response to questions asked by an Iranian journalist USA FIFAWorldCup

Tyler Adams has been commended for his response to questions asked by an Iranian journalist.

The Leeds and USA midfielder spoke to the media ahead of his country’s World Cup clash against Iran, and the 23-year-old certainly impressed with his answers.A journalist challenged the player on his pronunciation of Iran, correcting him on his use of ‘aye-ran’, before asking him about racism in the US.: “My apologies on the mispronunciation of your country. There’s discrimination everywhere you go.

“One thing that I’ve learned, especially from living abroad in the past years and having to fit in in different cultures, is that in the US we’re continuing to make progress every single day.“I grew up in a white family with obviously an African-American heritage and background as well, so I had a little bit of different cultures and was very easy able to assimilate in different cultures.

“Not everyone has that ease and the ability to do that and obviously it takes longer to understand, and through education I think it’s super important, like you just educated me now on the pronunciation of your country. It’s a process, as long as you see progress, that’s the most important thing.” It was a very dignified response from Adams, who has since been praised for what he said in front of the world’s media.
