Peter Canavan criticised the GAA's decision

Peter Canavan criticised the GAA's decision to parade the 1998 Galway team in front of a largely empty Croke Park ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final.Two-time All-Ireland winner Canavan thought the team should have been shown to the crowd at half-time rather than long before throw-in.He said on RTE's coverage: "It's a shame that that brilliant Galway team of 98 weren't shown to the crowd when there's more people in here at half-time.

A number of fans were also critical of the decision, with one saying: "The Galway 1998 year anniversary team should be getting their rightful acknowledgement at half time." Another commented: "Great to see the 1998 Galway heroes in Croker today - Will the GAA top brass cop themselves on and restore the Jubilee teams to being introduced at Half time in front of a full house."To keep up to date with all the latest GAA news, sign-up to our GAA newsletter here.
