President Biden uses Jay Leno's Garage appearance as excuse to drive Corvette.

U.S. presidents don't get to drive much, for a variety of reasons. Unfortunate for President Joe Biden, a longtime car enthusiast and the owner of a gorgeous Corvette, a 1967 Goodwood Green convertible with a 327-ci V-8 and a four-speed manual. On a recent appearance on Jay Leno's Garage, however, the President was able to stretch the Vette's legs.

The president was on the season finale of the CNBC show, which aired Wednesday night, to talk about the transition towards electric vehicles, something he's discussed a lot during his term. Leno and Biden take Ford'sfor a spin around a Secret Service training area in Maryland, before the President jumps in the Corvette.

Biden and the Corvette appeared on Jay Leno's Garage six years ago, drag racing the late Colin Powell, secretary of state under the second Bush administration. Powell owned a C7 Stingray and according to his son, Michael, he felt that he won the first drag race, but Leno's team edited to make it look as if that was not the case. With Michael in the C7 and Biden in the C2, they have a rematch.

There's a great story behind the Corvette, too. It was a surprise wedding gift from Biden's father, who ran a large Chevrolet dealership. He's kept the car all these years, and even used it in a campaign ad. While he's also promoting EVs heavily, the President still loves his Corvettes. At the Detroit Auto Show last month,You need to have a cable package to stream a re-run of the Leno's Garage episode.
