With the arrival of US President Joe Biden in Ireland, the gardaí have warned people in Dublin, Louth and Mayo to expect road closures and restrictions as tight security measures kick in
US President Joe Biden will start his highly-anticipated four-day trip to Ireland today as Air Force One lands in Belfast this afternoon.
At a briefing for US journalists on Monday evening, White House national security spokesperson John Kirby confirmed a number of new details of Mr Biden’s trip. It is then expected that Air Force One will fly from Belfast to Dublin Airport. The Irish Mirror understands that Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is likely to greet President Biden at the airport.
Gardaí have warned residents in the Dublin 2 and 8 areas that there will be “intermittent road closures” and parking restrictions put in place. Similar advice has been issued to those travelling from Ireland West Airport in Knock, Co Mayo, where Air Force One will arrive and depart on Friday.
