Preston care home Finney House still needs improving after second scathing report

A nursing home in Preston that was ordered to make drastic improvements in its service has been found to be below standard once again by a health watchdog.

READ MORE: 'Money well spent?': Blackburn locals on whether £200m masterplan is enough to rescue a 'dying town' Following the previous report which highlighted major concerns in the safety of the residents, inspectors now found that registered managers and staff ensured that all safeguarding incidents were reported and investigated in-line with their safeguarding policy. Comments from people at the home included, "I feel perfectly safe. I have a gate on my door, at my request, to stop others entering my room. I know the staff well and I can trust them.

At this inspection the CQC found nine of the breaches and associated shortfalls had been addressed and care, quality and people's experiences improved. However, the provider continued to be in breach of regulation in respect of medicines management and needed to improve practices for seeking consent.
