The Lancashire lads who make one of the best gins in the world in their spare time
Recent years have seen gin take the alcohol market by storm, with different flavours and brands flying off the shelves in recent years.
"We immediately wanted to make our own statement and put it out there that this is us and this is what we do and how it should be. After a lot of trial and error, we found that using the method of 100% vapour infused, which is used in gin processing but not usually the sole method, we could create a much smoother finish.
Ellis added: "We both have full-time jobs, I'm in marketing and Liam is in sales. Every evening we finish our jobs around five in the afternoon, we go to the unit, do local deliveries and back to the unit to distil and we spend about four or five hours a night. Of the 14,205 entries from 110 different countries, only 1.5% of products have achieved the accolade this year. The Ochre was described as "a truly top-notch gin", with judges highlighting its "fresh, juicy, authentic orange aroma."
