Maryhill man Jonathan uses the ticket to travel from Maryhill to the city centre, and says he faces a rise from £75 a month to £176 by the end of this month.
Glasgow's Strathclyde Partnership for Transport ZoneCards will skyrocket in price by the end of the month as a new smart system is introduced.
Jonathan Harvey uses the ticket to travel from his home in Maryhill to his work in the city centre. Currently the four week ZoneCard is costing him £75, however, this will shoot up to £176 come the end of June, more than a 130% increase. The stunned ZoneCard user believes the significant price hike will stop a lot of people from using public transport.
They said: “The Zonecard ticketing arrangement is administered by SPT on behalf of the ZoneCard Forum which is made up of participating operators.
