Prime Video has released a new teaser for its upcoming series Gen V, a spin-off to the streamer's most beloved show The Boys.
Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys takes place in a world in which superpowered people exist and work for a powerful corporation known as Vought International that markets and monetises them, making them appear as heroes to the public.Despite their public image, however, most of these superpowered individuals - who are referred to as"supes" - are in fact corrupt and self-serving.
The first live-action spin-off to The Boys, Gen V will be set in the same universe but will instead be focused around Godolkin University, the only college in the US exclusively for young-adult supes, and will explore the training of a handful of its students."These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking.
Meanwhile, Gen V will also feature appearances from Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, Jessie T. Usher and P.J. Byrne, all reprising their roles from The Boys. The spin-off will debut exclusively on Prime Video with three episodes on Friday, 29 September, followed by weekly episodes. You can watch the very sweary and violent redband teaser for Gen V right here.
