So, the new school year is almost in session, and Prince George will be heading back to St Thomas’s Battersea.Prince George will be learning to swim, singing in a choir and taking ballet lessons.In order to tackle the gender norms and the status quo, Prince George’s school include ballet in their curriculum… for all students.“Pupils are prepared for the examinations of The Royal Academy of Dance and also for the school’s biennial Ballet Show.
Free Movement – this has been influenced by other dance styles such as jazz, contemporary and classical Greek dance and incorporates movements from them all. Character – the theatrical presentation of national dance using original ethnic dance and music which has been freely adapted for the theatre. The three styles – Hungarian, Russian and Polish – were selected because of their historic importance in the development of the nineteenth century full-length classical ballet.
Ballet is taught to a very high standard at Thomas’s Battersea and our pupils always achieve 100% success in their examinations.
