The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are enjoying a private getaway with their children and Kate's mother on the exclusive Caribbean island of Mustique. This isn't the first time the royal family has vacationed on the island, known for its luxurious villas, pristine beaches, and strict 'no-fly' policy.

Royal enthusiasts might have been disappointed when Prince William and Princess Kate missed the BAFTA film awards this year, but they had a valid reason for skipping the glitzy event. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly enjoying some well-deserved relaxation on a tropical island paradise with their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. The family is taking advantage of the children's school half-term break.

The Wales family reportedly flew to Mustique, a dreamy and luxurious Caribbean island with a long history of royal connections. Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, is also believed to have joined the family of five on their holiday, shortly after celebrating her 70th birthday. \The family has previously vacationed on this idyllic, privately-owned island, including in 2019 when they celebrated Prince George's sixth birthday there. Mustique offers a haven of privacy, providing the future King and Queen a break from the constant public scrutiny they usually face. According to Hello Magazine, the island has a 'strict no-fly policy', ensuring that all guests can truly escape and unwind, free from prying eyes as they soak up the pristine white sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue waters. In 2019, Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly stayed in a luxurious villa on Mustique, costing guests a hefty £27,000 for a week. The property, owned by William's friend Andrew Dunn, features an infinity pool, jacuzzi, and breathtaking views, reports the Mirror. The couple was joined by Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, during their visit. \But the royal connection to Mustique extends beyond the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The late Princess Margaret, Queen Elizabeth's sister, owned a villa on the three-mile-long island, referring to it as 'the only place I can relax'. She was gifted 10 acres of land by Colin Tennant, the island's owner since 1958 and husband to one of her close friends, Lady Anne Glenconner. Princess Margaret built her island home, Les Jolies Eaux, and visited this 'hedonistic idyll' twice a year, according to Town and Country. A friend of the Princess is quoted saying: 'Margaret told me Les Jolies Eaux was the only property she had ever owned in her entire life. It was hers. 'She felt inordinate love and pride that this was not from the royal family, it was not her sister's, it was not grace and favour. She loved the fact it was her own,' the magazine reports. Princess Margaret's friend, Tatiana Copeland, shed light on the royal's private life on the island of Mustique. Despite the Princess relishing her downtime, guests maintained a strict adherence to Royal protocol—even going as far as curtseying to her on the beach in their swimwear and using appropriate titles when addressing her.
