Ukrainian prisoners were raped, waterboarded and given electric shocks to their genitalia in at least 20 torture chambers funded by the Kremlin in the occupied Kherson region, according to research seen by theipaper ClaireGilbodyD reports:
that one common technique was to force the victim to use a faulty electric item, such as a phone, to electrocute themselves.
Some people were killed or died of their injuries in the chambers, Mr Jordash said, adding that guards were “regularly” seen taking away body bags. Previously unseen images purport to show the inside of the chambers, used to “subjugate, re-educate or kill Ukrainian civic leaders and ordinary dissenters”. About 400 people who were detained have reportedly vanished.
