Priti Patel hits back at Justin Welby after he condemned her scheme to send asylum seekers straight to Rwanda
Justin Welby blasted the government's Rwanda plan during his Easter sermon. Unlawful migrants in Britain could be sent to African country under scheme. Archbishop of Canterbury said today that Easter is for 'repentance and renewal'.
He quickly added that Easter is not for 'sub-contracting our responsibilities'. But Priti Patel fired back, defending the scheme as 'bold and innovative'. She challenged the Archbishop to offer his 'own solution' to the migrant problem. Jacob Rees-Mogg said he is mistaken and other MPs questioned his intervention
