The initiative, backed by JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab Bank, will connect participants to training, networking opportunities and pathways to funding.
“Systemic barriers have prevented developers of color from accessing capital and achieving their potential in helping communities across the country,” Ellis Carr, president and CEO of Capital Impact Partners and CDC Small Business Finance, said in a statement. “There are so many talented developers of color who are ready to work with local neighborhoods to create housing solutions that uplift and support communities.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. will provide $500,000 in grant funding for the Dallas expansion and has partnered on the program in several other cities. Capital Impact also received a grant from Charles Schwab Bank for the program in Dallas.
