A number of groups are protesting outside Thomond Park in Limerick as a Fine Gael-organised meeting about directly elected mayors gets under way
The meeting is being addressed by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar along with Fine Gael candidates for the upcoming local elections.

Yesterday, protesters interrupted a similar Fine Gael meeting in Cork which was attended by Mr Varadkar and Táaniste Simon Coveney.
