The Police Service of Northern Ireland ( PSNI ) has issued a warning against vigilantism following a violent incident in the Ballgallin Park area of Coleraine . On Thursday evening, a group of men wearing balaclavas entered a house and assaulted a 70-year-old man. The victim was taken to the hospital where it was revealed he had sustained gunshot wounds to his arms and legs, as well as injuries to his head and torso. PSNI detectives are appealing for information from the public.
They urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious, has CCTV footage, or any other relevant information to contact them. The attack has shocked the local community, with politicians condemning the violence and expressing concern for the victim's wellbeing.
