A police vehicle was deliberately rammed in Newry on Friday, leaving two officers injured
Police are calling for information following an incident where a police vehicle was intentionally rammed in Newry on Friday, resulting in injuries to two officers.
Two units responded, and when officers tried to engage with the occupants, the driver allegedly sped up and crashed into one of the vehicles, causing "extensive damage and injuries to the two officers inside". "The suspected stolen car, a blue Mazda Demio, was later found in the Bessbrook area," added Inspector MacDonald.
"The police vehicle sustained such severe damage that it had to be towed from the scene and will now be off the road for repairs, which affects the local community. Those responsible should expect to face the consequences of their actions in court.
