Police are trying to trace a group of men who were reportedly observed leaving the scene. Officers say they are concerned they may have sustained injuries.
The incident happened on the Bann Road in Castlewellan on Friday night, August 5, just before 11pm. Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the one-vehicle collision.The PSNI said on arrival of officers, the vehicle was on its roof, however, no passengers were located inside. A number of men were also reported to have been at the scene and were observed leaving.
Sergeant Curran said: “We're continuing with enquiries into this collision and to establish how this car ended up on its roof. In particular, we're working to locate the males observed at the scene and can assist us with our enquiries, however, we also want to check on their welfare as we believe they may have sustained injuries.
"If you were in the area, before or around 10.55pm on Friday, 5th August and believe you saw this vehicle, or may have captured its movements on your dash-cam, we would ask that you get in touch with us. I would also make a direct appeal to the males who were observed at the scene of the incident to contact us.Alternatively, you can submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.
