Public asked for views on reopening Glasgow Life venues closed during Covid-19 pandemic
The public is being asked for its views on reopening Glasgow Life community venues that closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, Glasgow City Council allocated £1.1 million in its 2022/23 budget to support the reopening of community facilities. Glasgow Life is contacting nearly 400 previous and existing let and leaseholders to gauge their interest in returning to venues. The charity is also seeking the views of local residents and groups, who are being asked to complete a short online survey which will help identify where current and future demand for community venue use is greatest. Options are due to be presented to Glasgow City Council in early September outlining how the £1.1m funding could be spent.
"It will be used to inform options for the Council to consider how and where to focus its resources to ensure they continue to have the greatest benefit to local communities. We will be submitting these options to the Council in early September and any decisions regarding the reopening of more community facilities will be made at a future Council committee meeting.”
Members of the public have until midnight on Sunday 14 August to complete the survey on Glasgow Life’s website.Glasgow Battlefield streets set for redesign to 'prioritise people over vehicles'Attempted murder in Paisley as man battles 'life-threatening' injuries in hospital
