Marian Finucane dead: Public reacts after heartbreaking passing of veteran broadcaster
RTE confirmed this evening that the iconic broadcaster passed away earlier today.
Paying tribute, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said: "I am stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the death of Marian Finucane."Ireland will miss her voice. Weekend mornings will never be quite the same again."Former presidential candidate Gavin Duffy said: "I have just checked, rechecked and rechecked again. In shock! A ground breaking broadcaster has left us.""She was seriously talented and her passing is a great loss to Irish broadcasting.
"I think many will be unaware of the extent of her contribution to society through her work over the decades." Another fan said: "I shed a tear when I heard of the passing of Marian Finucane, god rest her soul.
