A quarter horse is a breed distinct for its speed, said Congress official Carey Cooper.
“They got their name from the fastest in a quarter-mile,” Cooper said. “It’s one of the most versatile breeds there is.”Where does the event take place? The All American Quarter Horse will take place at the Ohio Expo Center, Interstate 71 and East 17th Avenue.The event is free to attend apart from some special events, including the Congress Professional Bull Riders event at 7 p.m. Oct. 7. Tickets cost $25 to $100 and can be purchased atAccording to the Congress website, those parking for a single day should park north of 17th Avenue and those parking for the entire event, as well as exhibitors, on the fairgrounds property.
Everything from saddles to bridles and Western decorative items will be for sale, said Congress marketing and communications director Autumn Bowlby. “ a number of vendors over many acres,” she said.Two sales of horses are scheduled for this year’s event: The main Congress Super Sale on Oct. 15, and the Congress Ranch Horse Sale, including ranch and trail horses as well as family ponies, on Oct. 1.
“Some of the top horses in our industry are going to be for sale at these two different sales,” Bowlby said. “ great horses going through that sale ring.”
