Britain’s longest reigning monarch, HRH Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96
Queen Elizabeth II has died. The 96-year-old passed away earlier today it was announced in the House of Commons .
Her death comes after her husband, Prince Philip, died aged 99 on April 9, 2021. Due to coronavirus restrictions in place in England at that time, only 30 people could attend his funeral.The pair had been married for 73 years at the time of his death. Earlier this week, the Queen welcomed the new PM at Balmoral. The Queen, whose full name was Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, was the first born child of the Duke and Dutchess of York - who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
