The Queen has released a special portrait in order to mark the beginning of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations
A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II has been released in order to mark the start of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
She also issued a sweet message along with the portrait, thanking those who are planning to celebrate her 70 year reign and wishing them well. "I continue to be inspired by the goodwill shown to me, and hope that the coming days will provide an opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved during the last seventy years, as we look to the future with confidence and enthusiasm."
The portrait's release comes as people across the UK are gearing up to celebration the monarch's historic 70 year reign, with some royal fans already camping outside of Buckingham Palace.The Queen will kickoff her Jubilee bash with Trooping the Colour on Thursday 2 June – a ceremony performed by regiments of the British Army.
