An eight-part drama based on the best-selling novel is premiering on Channel 4
Episodes one and two of the debut series air in a double-header on the channel starting at 10pm on Tuesday 4 June, starring Dionne Brown in the title role withit as a “sharp, honest, funny drama” about a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman called Queenie, who lives in South London and “straddles two cultures but slots neatly into neither”.
as “a man with his own van and grand plans in life”, who’s “from ends, is invested in his community and has known Queenie since her high school days” – is played byon TV, running in back to back half-hour slots starting at 10pm on Channel 4 on Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5, Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 June.: “Queenie is a razor-sharp, utterly honest, blisteringly funny and achingly yet beautifully relatable series, full of as much heart and soul as the lady herself.
