Last week, the Chatham County Police Department said that Simon, a 20-month-old toddler, was likely dead.
"We believe that he was placed in a specific dumpster at a specific location and it was brought here by regular means of disposal," Chatham CountyChief Jeff Hadley said during a press conference."I have every belief that we will find his remains here at the landfill.

On October 18, the Chatham County Police Department announced that they were searching a landfill for the remains of the missing toddler, Quinton Simon.
"This operation will include a team of searchers daily from the Chatham County Police Department and FBI, along with dozens of support personnel. The FBI's Evidence Response Team is leading the landfill search, which will be a precise and extensive recovery mission for Quinton's remains and other potential evidence."
