R. Kelly pleads not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault
R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to all 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault against him. The famous R&B singer has entered a plea of not guilty ahead of his trial. The plea was entered on Monday morning by Kelly's lawyer, Steve Greenberg. He has also been forced to hand over his passport. R. Kelly, whose full name is Robert Kelly, will remain incarcerated for now, as he has been unable to post bail.
Kelly, who has been tried before for possession of child pornography, has been under intense scrutiny since the airing of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary — in which a number of women claim that he abused them physically and emotionally, and kept them against their will. He was also illegally married to the late-singer Aaliyah when she was just 15 years old and he was 27. His next court hearing is scheduled for March 22.
