The 850bhp Project 25 will be Radical's most extreme model yet, and just 25 units will be produced -
has previewed a forthcoming flagship track-only model called the ‘Project 25’ that’ll be based on its RXC model line. Due to be revealed in early 2023, it’ll be limited to just 25 units and will enter its production run in late 2023.
Powering the Project 25 will be one of the most powerful engines to ever motivate a Radical, with a proposed 850bhp to be delivered from a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This engine, like others in its RXC lineup, is’s 3.5-litre Ecoboost unit that’s currently used in the F-150 Raptor and GT, giving it the bones to handle Radical’s proposed peak power figures. As it stands Radical’s current flagship model – the RXC600R – produces 650bhp.
There are no other details on the powertrain available, but judging by the 600R’s specification, we expect power to be driven through a transversely-mounted six-speed transmission to the rear wheels. It will also feature a closed cockpit with a two seater configuration, built from a steel space frame-style chassis clothed in either a fibreglass or carbonfibre skin. Suspension is generally in-board in these flagship Radical models, however being a new limited-run flagship there might be a surprise or two coming in its chassis and braking hardware.
Prices are still to be announced, but with production limited to just 25 units we suspect it’ll be priced like a special edition flagship, one capable of keeping up with even more expensive machinery on a Silverstone track day.
