The aircraft and its Squadron will be stood down at the end of this month.
Scots watched on as three RAF Hercules planes flew over the country today to mark the aircraft's retirement from service.
The transport aircraft and Number 47 Squadron will be stood down officially on June 30, with the plane replaced by the Atlas A400, after serving the RAF since the 1960s. Brian Macdonald, from Lossiemouth, managed to capture footage of the moment the squadron flew overhead on the journey back down to England.
"I am extremely proud of the people on my Squadron and across the wider Hercules family – they have delivered time and again on operations.
