Rams quarterback remains in concussion protocol, but was a full participant during practice and Rams coach Sean McVay says he expects Stafford to play Sunday
THOUSAND OAKS — Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is on track to play in Sunday’s road game against the New Orleans Saints.
Stafford regularly speaks with reporters on Wednesdays, but he wasn’t scheduled for a news conference this week because he’s still in the concussion protocol. McVay said he’s optimistic about Stafford getting clearance to play by Friday. Wolford didn’t practice Wednesday because his neck was stiff from the 12 hits he took versus the Cardinals, including three sacks. Stafford was sacked 28 times in his eight games behind the Rams’ struggling offensive line.
Coleman Shelton, a starting guard, would start at center if Allen can’t play against the Saints, according to McVay.
