The team at Oswald's Bar in the city centre revealed that they had been visited by Alex 'Doddie' MacDonald.
The 75-year-old is known as one of the club's Barcelona Bears for his role in Rangers winning the 1972 Cup Winners' Cup. He scored against Rennes in the first round of the competition and during his time with the club he played over 500 times and won three League Championships, four Scottish Cups and four League Cups.
Rangers fans shared their memories of Doddie's career, with one writing:"What a brilliant player he was."A third added:"Brilliant player, a true Ger and a really nice guy."
