🔴 Rape claims against senior Tory MP need 'clear evidence' before party acts, says minister
Allegations that a senior Tory MP carried out sexual assaults and rapes must be properly investigated before the Conservative Party takes any action, a Government minister has said.
An unnamed backbench MP was reported to the Met Police by fellow Conservative MPs over allegations spanning two years,But Scotland Yard is yet to open a formal investigation, it is claimed, and the MP has not been requested to avoid the parliamentary estate, despite the situation being widely known at the top of the Conservative Party, the newspaper claimed.
“If there is evidence of offences, then they should be reported to the authorities, investigations should happen.
