🔴 Serial rapist and Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick has been sacked from the force with immediate effect following a misconduct hearing
On Tuesday morning, a misconduct hearing concluded that Carrick’s crimes will cause immeasurable damage to confidence in the Met.
Ms Rolfe said the harm caused by David Carrick’s misconduct was “critically high”, particularly to women and girls who may be less likely to “come forward and report they have been the victims of criminal offences”. The hearing was triggered after Carrick pleaded guilty to numerous offences, including 20 counts of rape and nine counts of sexual assault, in December.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said the Met’s failure to root out serial rapist David Carrick from its ranks reflects “cultural issues” within the force.: “Londoners will be shocked and appalled that someone who has been a serving police officer for almost 20 years was a prolific sexual offender.
