Irish Congress of Trade Unions calls for ‘robust’ protections for workers as European Union races to regulate generative AI platforms
Major weaknesses remain in the European Union’s attempt to rein in artificial intelligence programmes as the speed of the technology’s development outpaces the rate at which it can be legislated for, TDs will hear on Wednesday.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has warned that there has already been a dehumanising impact on employees due to the technology, and said that proper safeguards are needed to protect workers rights and future jobs.
