From running to drumming, RTE broadcaster Ray D'Arcy, who turns 60 in September, shares what keeps him fit and active while also allowing him to spend quality time with his family

As Ray D'Arcy approaches his 60th birthday, the Radio 1 broadcaster is enjoying keeping active and taking up new hobbies.

"It's routine for me. I need to do it. It's a lovely time of the day and there's a lovely community up there, everyone acknowledges each other," Ray told the RTE Guide highlighting how this daily ritual nurtures both his body and mind. Among the songs he's learning are Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Charles Wright's "Express Yourself."
