Bogus emails were sent to people in at least two provinces alleging the recipients were under investigation for fraud.
In a news release sent out Friday by Nova Scotia RCMP and shared by Saskatchewan RCMP, the police say emails were sent to people in at least two provinces alleging the email recipients were under investigation for fraud and requesting personal information and banking details.
The bogus email that is circulating is written in French and contains text and wording similar to official RCMP materials.
