Princess Eugenie was noticeably absent from the 'Together at Christmas' carol service at Westminster Abbey this week, which marked Kate Middleton's first solo event of the year following her cancer diagnosis and major abdominal surgery in January.
This year's carol service theme celebrated those supporting others in need, emphasising love and empathy. It is speculated that Eugenie's absence may be due to her splitting her time between the UK and Portugal with her husband and two sons, August and Ernest. Her husband, Jack Brooksbank, is reportedly working in Portugal with Michael Meldman's Discovery Land Company. Earlier this year, the public got a sneak peek into Eugenie's Portuguese life when the 34 year-old Royal shared that her sons, three year old-August, and one year-old Ernest "love swimming", despite her own childhood fears of the sea.
