Rebekah Vardy has come under attack from her second husband, Steve Clarke, who has hit out at her to brand her 'jealous' over arch rival Coleen Rooney's I'm A Celeb success
Rebekah Vardy has been branded "desperate" and "jealous" in a bitter assault of words by one of her ex-husbands. The 42-year-old former Dancing On Ice contestant is happily married to 37-year-old footballer Jamie Vardy - however, he is her third husband.
Rebekah was first married to electrician Mark Godden who she wed in 2001 but they divorced in 2003. She then fell for timeshare company owner Steve Clarke, 59, as she worked as a secretary at his firm. They embarked on a romance that resulted in marriage in 2005 - but the relationship burned out and they divorced the following year. While it may be nearly 20 years since this divorce, it seems Rebekah's ex is still bitter about their time together and has lashed out at the star in a new interview. He claims he can see evidence that Rebekah is angered over the warm response her arch rival, Coleen Rooney, has received during her time on ITV's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Coleen has made it to the final of the show - and Rebekah has been watching along in order to write a column for The Sun about her trials. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Steve hit out at his ex, declaring: "She is just desperate to stay relevant and keep her name in the news." He continued: "It is quite pathetic what she is doing by commenting on I’m a Celebrity but it just shows she is so jealous of Coleen. I can guarantee you 100 million per cent she just wants to keep people seeing her picture and her name... When you watch Coleen, she is all smiles and happy. People like her, but when Rebekah was in the jungle people were talking about her resting b**ch face. She just can’t stand that people like Colleen and the public have no sympathy for her." Getting even more personal, Steve's attack continued as he blasted: " is her own person, while Rebekah is only relevant because she is married to a Premier League footballer. That is why she has trademarked the name Wagatha Christie because even though she lost she can make some money of it." The Mirror has contacted Rebekah's spokesperson for comment. While Rebekah and Steve's marriage my not have ended in happiness, the charity patron has gone on to build a happy life for herself. She enjoyed a romance with footballer Luke Foster, with whom she welcomed a son in 2005 and a daughter in 2010. She then met Jamie and they wed in 2016 and welcomed a daughter in 2014, a son in 2017, and another daughter in 2019. Rebekah is also step-mother to a further daughter Jamie has from a past relationship. In an interview with Hello! magazine back in 2020, she said: "I was so happy to be able to have Jamie at my side for the birth of our beautiful daughter .
