Record 760 patients waiting for hospital bed - INMO

The previous record based on INMO data was 714 patients on 12 March 2018

The Health Service Executive TrolleyGar figures put the scale of overcrowding today lower at 563 patients.

This would see all non-emergency admissions stopped, elective procedures cancelled and extra bed capacity sourced from the private and public sectors. SIPTU Health Division Organiser Paul Bell said the chaos was starving communities of a safe and functioning ambulance service.
