The ugly scenes came after the Dublin official changed his mind about awarding a penalty to Tullamore in the closing stages of the match
The match referee was 'shoved to the ground' after Tullamore were knocked out of the Leinster Club Football Championship by Summerhill at O'Connor Park on Sunday afternoon.
Tiernan first blew his whistle to indicate a free in for Tullamore outside the six yard box, but after consulting with his umpires, he pointed to the spot for a penalty. When John Furlong's free came to nothing for Tullamore, the final whistle blew shortly afterwards to see the match finish 1-09 to 1-07 in Summerhill's favour.
