Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page has some harsh words for the Duke 👀 'We did so well on that redemptive arc that people forget that Simon was kind of horrific. He was the best example of a Regency f**kboy that any of us had come across...' 😮😳😂

Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page reflects on his character Simon Basset, hilariously calling the Duke a"Regency f**kboy." Based on Julia Quinn's series of novels, Bridgerton shot to prominence when it was first released back in 2020, quickly breaking major records for its streaming home of Netflix.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Following a number of smaller roles, Bridgerton saw Page propelled into the spotlight after viewers were immediately taken with the Duke's devilish charm. Season 1 explored Simon's disinterest in marriage and starting a family, in contrast to Daphne, who eagerly sought to find her perfect"love match.

We did so well on that redemptive arc that people forget that Simon was kind of horrific. He was the best example of a Regency f**kboy that any of us had come across and so, because we came around full circle so well, because we stuck that landing, you’re left with this great feeling. You really do have to be brave about ending stories like that.

Page also shares that if Bridgerton decides to recast Simon Basset in the future, he would have no qualms, as he was ultimately incredibly satisfied with how his character's story rounded off. Since his time on Bridgerton, Page has been at the center of a number of exciting projects, including his latest film The Gray Man, which sees him star alongside Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling.

For many, Simon's"f**ckboy" moments, and more importantly his change of heart in the latter parts of the season, were what made Page's character so interesting to watch. It's hilarious to hear the actpr joke about his character in such a way, though it's clear that he is rather satisfied with how Simon's story ultimately ended.
