Niall Morgan, Tyrone's goalkeeper, discusses the importance of the upcoming clash against Mayo in the context of relegation worries. While relegation was once a significant concern, recent success stories like Dublin and Armagh winning All-Irelands from Division Two have shifted perspectives. Morgan emphasizes the need to peak in the All-Ireland stages rather than solely focusing on League performance. He acknowledges that both teams have struggled since their 2021 All-Ireland final encounter, attributing it to a decline in standards and a complacency born from previous successes.

Relegation may loom for the losers in Castlebar tomorrow - but Niall Morgan isn’t as queasy about that prospect as he once was.

“Because we've tried stuff against Derry that did work and there's stuff that didn't work; the same against Armagh where nothing seemed to work. So it's getting back to the drawing board, and there'll be new stuff this week and new playeos in the pitch again this week, and trying to see what works, what doesn't work, what partnerships work.

Morgan explained: “I think we all just started taking it for granted – that we've won All-Ireland, that means we have the right to go back and do it again. I know I've said in the past that I felt some players maybe lost their hunger, and sometimes I've listened back to them things and thought, ‘These people are going to listen to that and think that I'm blaming other people’ but I'm not.
