You simply can’t tell the story of Cleveland’s rich music history without Swingos, the legendary hotel where every music star -- from Elvis and Frank Sinatra to Led Zeppelin and The Who -- called their home away from home during the golden era of the 1970s

at the Music Box Supper Club, celebrating Swingos’ legacy with intimate stories about the hotel’s guests and hospitality pioneer Jim Swingos.

The panel of guests included Matt Swingos, son of Jim, who was just a kid during Swingos’ heyday but spent his life hearing stories about what went down at his dad’s hotel. He was one of the few people to see the members of KISS without their makeup on a decade before the iconic rock band unmasked to the world.

Also on hand was David Spero, Cleveland rock-radio pioneer and talent manager, who spent about as much time at Swingos as anyone during his days at WMMS in the 1970s, hanging out with the likes of Joe Walsh, Jimmy Page and Brian Wilson.
