Remembrance Day is on November 11, 2024 and is observed to commemorate the sacrifices of those who have served in the line of duty. The day is marked by a two minute silence held across the country at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
A two-minute silence will be observed, commencing at 11am. The start and finish of the two-minute silence will be marked by the firing of a maroon. If you are not taking part in the parade, it is advised to arrive at the War memorial before 3pm ready for the service to start.All Saints Parish Church, Hale Road. Service starts at 10am. The service is followed by a short procession to the War Memorial at 10:40am for an interfaith service that will start at 10:55am and end at an estimated time of 11:15am.Partington War Memorial, The Green, Lock Lane.
Commenting on this year's events, The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Shakil Ahmed, said: "Remembrance Sunday is always a poignant and reflective day, as we pay tribute to our Armed Forces and honour the service of thousands of men and women from across our borough. Doors open at 6.15pm and the concert begins at 7pm, concluding at 10pm. Tickets are priced at £8 with a booking fee.Tameside Over the weekend of November 9 and 10 and into Monday November 11, Tameside’s towns, villages and communities will again be holding services and ceremonies to remember those who fell in the two world wars and many other conflicts.
At 11am, there will be a 2 minute silence, beginning with the Last Post and ending with the Reveille. Following prayers, hymns and reflections, wreaths will be laid on the steps of the War Memorial.Armistice Day, Monday 11 November 2024At 11am, the Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Suzanne Wyatt, will observe the silence on the steps of Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery, Wellington Road South, Stockport, SK3 8AB.
