The Friends of Hawkhead Cemetery group are now calling for the approach to be abandoned as they believe it shows a lack of respect for the dead and is undignified.
Renfrewshire Council have confirmed they will continue toppling "unsafe" gravestones as other methods are deemed “not feasible”.
