'Erik ten Hag is hopeful that the possibility of securing permanent moves to Old Trafford will act as incentives for both Sabitzer and striker Wout Weghorst.'
Date published: Friday 10th February 2023 11:32 -Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag believes there is a chance that Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst could stay beyond the end of the season, according to reports.
The Red Devils didn’t bring in any permanent signings in the January transfer window after backing Ten Hag heavily in the summer market – but they did provide him with Sabitzer and Weghorst on loan from Bayern Munich and Burnley respectively.moving them just two points behind second-placed Man City, who have a game in hand on Ten Hag’s men.
The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr, following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan, led to the arrival of Weghorst, while a long-term injury to Christian Eriksen saw Ten Hag actIt seems unlikely that Weghorst will stay beyond the end of the season and there is no obligation or option to buy the Burnley star or Sabitzer.
‘Manager Erik ten Hag is hopeful that the possibility of securing permanent moves to Old Trafford will act as incentives for both Sabitzer and striker Wout Weghorst — who was signed on loan from Burnley during the January window — between now and the end of the season. ‘Sabitzer is under contract at Bayern until 2025 but is expected to leave permanently in the summer. The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena and Bayern are set to bolster their midfield even further in the summer window with the free transfer addition of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig.’
