Residents of Fleetwood in Lancashire have been enduring a foul smell for two months, causing headaches and nosebleeds. The smell is attributed to a landfill site owned by Transwaste, which is being upgraded to reduce odours.
Residents of a Lancashire seaside town have blasted an inhuman pong floating around their streets - which is so bad it's said to cause headaches and nosebleeds. People living Fleetwood told LancsLive they have been forced to keep their windows and doors firmly shut for two months in a desperate bid to swerve the stink.
Many have even reported feeling unwell as a result of the sulphur-like pong Residents LancsLive spoke to today (March 12) even said people have been suffering from headaches, breathing difficulties and even nosebleeds as a result of the putrid air. The disruption to their otherwise peaceful coastal life is down to the landfill site at the bottom of Jameson Road. Owned by Transwaste who took over from Suez in 2023, the site overlooks Fleetwood Marsh Nature Reserve with a number of housing estates surrounding it too.
