The inferno broke out within the former Promat factory on Petershill Road, Springburn at roughly 8.20pm yesterday.

Residents have been told to stay indoors following a huge blaze at a former factory in Glasgow. Firefighters are still tackling the fire at an abandoned building in Springburn, more than 11 hours after they were first called to the scene.

Several road closures are in place and members of the public have been told to avoid the area by police. Nearby residents have also been asked to remain indoors and keep windows closed due to large amount of smoke caused by the blaze.
