Crowds stood and watched in horror yesterday evening as flames took hold of yet another of Lancashire's seaside buildings .
At around 5.30pm, around eight fire crews were scrambled to the scene, as a large section of the pub's roof was destroyed by the blaze. In an update shortly after, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service stated the number of fire engines at the scene, as well as the attendance of four breathing apparatus and two hose reels, used to extinguish the fire.It is the latest of several fires to hit seaside towns across the west Lancashire coast in recent months.
She told LancsLive: "I was on Facebook and someone in my local group said that The Mount was on fire. So, The Mount's not far from where I am and I looked out of the window and I could see the smoke. "You could see the flames in the roof, the first time I went," Vicky continued. "I went back at around eight and it was still on fire and that's when they [fire crews] put the tall hose up. Everyone was calm when I was there, I just hope everyone's ok."
