Martin O'Grady, who lost his dad, had paid for a party of six to have a New Year's Eve dinner at The Fordwich Arms, a Michelin Star restaurant in Kent
A diner whose dad died after an accident has been left £660 out of pocket after a restaurant refused to move a reservation.
Speaking to Kent Live , one of the managers of the restaurant defended the decision, saying the "small independent restaurant" had already purchased lots of "premium expensive ingredients" and 16 staff members were set to work that evening. But Mr O'Grady said he was "utterly disgusted" and posted on Facebook : "I am doing something I’ve never done before - leaving a poor review as a result of an appalling experience at a restaurant.
"However, this does not even come close to my most recent experience of what I could only describe as utterly inhumane behaviour. "He received a recital of nonsense about terms and conditions and that our dinner date could neither be refunded nor changed to a later date. We were not seeking a refund. "There are no words. I just feel everyone should be aware of what kind of people run this place and draw their own conclusions before ever considering making a reservation at this place.
"Once we had heard the news our manager immediately phoned the two tables on the waiting list. However, at the late stage they had already made plans elsewhere.
