Mana's coveted Michelin Star stolen from Ancoats restaurant
While most restaurants that hold a Michelin Star worry about losing the honour one day, it's fair to say few have had to experience it being STOLEN from them. Yet that's the scene over at Manchester's acclaimed Mana restaurant - as its coveted Michelin Star award has been swiped from outside the venue.
Chef Simon explained to foodies that the plaque was stolen in recent weeks. And restaurant bosses have confirmed that the Michelin Guide has been informed and that a new star is on its way. The MEN asked the restaurant for further comment, and were told that the plaque was stolen "a few weeks ago" from outside the front door. They added: "A sparkling new one is on its way to us and we'll make sure it's more sturdily fixed on."
